TPE 4.4: Plan, design, implement and monitor instruction, making effective use of instructional time to maximize learning opportunities and provide access to the curriculum for all students by removing barriers and providing access through instructional strategies that include: appropriate use of technology, use of developmentally, linguistically, and culturally appropriate learning activities, instructional materials, resources, and translation strategies.
This unit plan on rhyming words aligns with TPE 4.4 because it was designed to make instruction developmentally appropriate, engaging, and accessible to all students. I planned a variety of learning experiences—including songs, picture books, hands-on activities, and digital tools—to help students recognize and produce rhyming words. Instruction was scaffolded through visual supports, guided practice, allowing students at different levels to access the content. I also integrated culturally relevant materials and provided opportunities for students to connect rhyming words to familiar vocabulary from their own experiences. These strategies ensured that the curriculum removed barriers and supported meaningful learning for all learners.
